What to do Before Your Cleaning?

1. Vacuum If Necessary

One of the first questions we get is, "Do I need to vacuum?" We are able to vacuum before we clean, however if you are able to vacuum it will definitely save us time!

2. Move Furniture

Feel free to move small furniture & any breakable items - if you would like under your couch or bed cleaned, just give us a heads up and we can move it for you. Otherwise, most larger items like dressers or china cabinets may need to stay put, especially if you don't plan to move them in the near future.

3. Store Fragile Items

Tuck any fragile items into storage to avoid damage - If you'd like us to move furniture, remove all decorative items, fragile or not, so that nothing is broken.

4. Check for Loose Debris

Comb over your carpet with a close eye to look for items you wouldn't want to get stuck in a vacuum or our cleaning equipment. Bobby pins, jewelry, or rogue toys are common culprits - Take extra care to check spots previously hidden by furniture.

5. Clean From the Top Down

The last thing you want after your professional carpet cleaning is a cloud of dust floating down from the ceiling fan. Before our team arrives, remove dust and cobwebs from the ceiling, tops of walls, lighting, or ceiling fans.

6. Secure Drapes, Bedskirts, Tableclothes, etc.

Please tie or tuck long drapes off the floor - We recommend giving them a thorough dusting or taking the opportunity to run them through the wash so they don't drop dust on your newly cleaned floors.

7. Prep Your Pets

If you have a friendly golden retriever determined to "help" your carpet cleaning team, it's best to keep them tucked away so our pros can get to work. Choose a room for your cats or dogs and be sure you have a plan to keep them off the carpet for some time if it needs to dry.

8. Make a Post-Cleaning Plan

You may need to keep your family off clean floors up to a day after cleaning. Keep this in mind when scheduling your appointment, especially if you're prepping the house for an upcoming holiday party or the arrival of guests.

9. Make a List of Stains

From the spot from a flying forkful of spaghetti to any unfortunate pet accidents, make a list of any carpet stains you need us to address. Mentioning these on the phone when you make your appointment can help them come prepared - it also helps to run us through any spots when we arrive so we don't miss anything!

10. Save a Parking Spot

We definitely appreciate ensuring we have a place to park when we arrive - If you live in a city, offer tips for street parking in the area beforehand. We also recommend clearing a path from your front door to the room ready for cleaning. (Thank You!)

How long before the carpet is dry?

Ideally your carpet should be completely dry in 8 to 10 hours - turn on your air circulation system and use ceiling fans and/or stationary fans to speed up the drying process!
